VPN (Virtual Private Network) Connection
The ZyWALL 2 supports ICSA certified IPSec VPN suitable for remote site to central server deployment. Data encryption over the Internet ensures secure transmission between two sites, eliminating the necessity for expensive leased lines, and enabling global interconnectivity at a minimal expense.
Secured Firewall Protection
The ICSA Firewall certified ZyWALL 2 provides robust firewall protection and reliable security. Based on Stateful Packet Inspection and Denial of Service (DoS) technology, it provides the first line of defense against hackers, network intruders, and other hazardous threats.
Traffic Redirection for Broadband BackupConnection*
The ZyWALL 2 offers users increased reliability by supporting Fail-Over and Fail-Back technology. Fail-Over and Fail-Back technology forward WAN port traffic to backup ISDN or Analog modems in the event of WAN port connection failure. Once WAN port connections are reestablished, traffic automatically returns. An additional gateway may also be connected to the ZyWALL 2 to ensure availability of the Internet through a secondary local network. The ZyWALL 2 backup features increase reliability while decreasing device maintenance, IT consulting costs, and daily operation losses.
Broadband Internet Access Sharing
The ZyWALL 2 is equipped with a four-port 10/100 Ethernet switch, allowing multiple users to share one broadband Internet connection without the additional costs associated with external switches or hubs.
